Ms. Riggs, native to Pagosa Springs, left only to get her college degree. After earning a Bachelors of Arts in English and Communications at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Ms. Riggs returned to Pagosa Springs and started her career at PSHS. Her first job at PSHS consisted of helping out in the counseling office and advising the yearbook staff (which she still advises). During her early career, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Reading from University of Northern Colorado. Currently, she serves as department chair. Also, by serving as an adjunct professor for CU Pueblo, Ms. Riggs is able to offer dual enrollment/college credit to students enrolled in her senior-level courses. She also co-sponsors Future Business Leaders of America and Student Council.
