Currently in his thirty-sixth year of teaching in the Pagosa Springs school district, Dan Janowsky graduated from Ft. Lewis College in April of 1981 and began teaching at Pagosa Springs Junior High in the fall of the same year.
Mr. Janowsky is endorsed to teach both social studies and physical education, and over his tenure has taught many classes including US History, Southwest Studies, Colorado History, World Geography, Government, Physical Education and Strength and Conditioning. In 1992 Mr. Janowsky completed his MA in Physical Education from Adams State. In 2001 he joined the high school faculty and has continued to the present school year.
A collegiate wrestler at Fort Lewis College, Mr. Janowsky has had a passion for athletics, particularly wrestling, and has been the head coach at Pagosa Springs High School since 1991. He has coached over fifty state medalists in wrestling including twenty one state finalists and twelve state champions.
