Students will play and explore a variety of jazz music styles. Reading music, improvising and jazz history is part of this class. See band director for an admission note prior to registration as proper instrumentation is needed for a combo or full jazz band. Instrumentation is bass, guitar, drums, piano, saxophone, trombone, and trumpets. All jazz band students also practice the concert band music and combine with the concert band for performances and festivals. Students will perform in concerts and compete in contests if contests are available.
