COURSE NAME: INTEGRATED MATH 1
PREREQUISITE: SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF 8TH GRADE MATH
Integrated Math 1 consists of a study of data sets including applications of central tendencies (mean, median, and mode) along with interpretations of box and whisker plots and frequency diagrams. Line of best fit is explored along with Pearson r correlation coefficients and residuals and how they apply to the line of best fit. Solving and graphing systems of inequalities is emphasized. Exponential functions and their relationship to linear functions will be considered along with the meaning of functions and their notation. Solving simple quadratic equations and factoring is also included. The geometry strand within this course includes transformations of polygons, distance, midpoint, an introduction to circle equations, parallel and perpendicular equations of lines, and perimeter and area of polygons. Mathematical modeling and the integration between math and other disciplines is emphasized throughout.
