Chemistry is designed for students who are planning to pursue a science major in college. This lab based course will apply math concepts to predict and explain chemical interactions of the natural world. A strong math background is required. The following topics will be explored: components of matter, stoichiometry, types of reactions, gases, thermochemistry, atomic structure, electron configuration, chemical bonding, molecular shapes, covalent bonding, intermolecular forces, and acids and bases.
